So it was snack time and I was craving some good old fashioned guac! I can’t take credit for this picture, since I snagged it from food.com, but it looks about the same as how mine turns out. Next time I’ll remember to take a picture, I promise!
1 red onion
1 tomato (regular or several cherry tomatoes, its up to you!)
2-3 tbsp minced garlic
1-2 tbsp salt
1 bunch of cilantro minced
1 itty bitty can of smoked chipolte peppers (optional for fun smoky flavor)
Me in my wondrous guac-making glory.
Cut open each of your avocados and gut them! That’s right, rip the seed right out of the middle and put all the fun squishy green parts in a bowl to mash up.
Dice the red onion and jalapeño finely and toss them in the mashed up avocado.
Dice the tomato (for cherry tomatoes, cut in half) and add it along with the minced garlic into the bowl.
If you choose to add some smoky flavor to the dish, take one of the hydrated chipotle peppers from the can and dice it up finely before adding it to the bowl.
At this point it’s all up to your taste. Add the salt and minced cilantro, making sure to taste test as you gradually add both. Squeeze a little lime on top and mix it all together until it reminds you of radioactive mashed potatoes. Slap a chip on it, you’re done!
